Job Description:
The ideal candidate must demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of database administration concepts.
This individual will be responsible for the design and implementation of new databases, monitoring and maintaining existing databases, resolving complex database issues, optimizing performance, configuration management, and security.
They will work with the Database Administrator to fulfill the needs of the department.
Required Skills:
Undergraduate degree in computer science or related area of study.
Minimum 06 month of development experience in a technical environment.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve Databases problems.
Knowledge of development and testing of complex queries in T-SQL.
Knowledge of maintaining database performance by monitoring space, CPU usage, fragmentation of data, and by tuning queries, scheduling jobs, setting alerts, etc.
Database development, database change control and versioning procedures, work with data architects and developers to
Migrate database changes into test, user-acceptance and production environments.
Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the development and testing of complex T-SQL
Experience with IIS, .Net
Certification in database administration for Microsoft and/or Oracle
Experience with Oracle 9i and 10g is a plus.
Experience with data modeling and query tools such as RedGate, ERwin, TOAD, SQL Navigator, etc.
Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate, and carry out procedures designed to facilitate recovery from database failure, such as online backups, archiving, and exports.
